Youth - While born in England, Wright and his family moved to the United States when he was a child. They settled in northern California where he began playing soccer in local youth leagues. At some point, his family moved to San Diego where Wright would join the powerhouse La Jolla Nomads soccer club.           Singer/songwriter Laura Roppé was raised in San Diego, California, avidly listening as a child to Carly Simon and Fleetwood Mac. After obtaining a degree in Theatre from UCLA, she pursued the “family business” and became a lawyer. By early 2006, Laura felt she was wasting away on the conventional path, so she joined a local cover band, Cool Band Luke, belting out everything from Led Zeppelin to Kelly Clarkson at parties and events. The next logical step toward reclaiming her true self: she decided to record an album of her original music.
In early 2008, Laura brought a demo of her songs to Grammy-nominated producer Steve Wetherbee of Golden Tracks Studio in Escondido, California, who absolutely loved Laura's songs and agreed to produce Laura’s album. After Laura’s album “Girl Like This” was finished in late 2008, a chance encounter with the producer of a local radio morning show resulted in airplay for "Float Away" to an avalanche of listener response. This exposure eventually led to a record deal with London-based label, Right Recordings, in October 2008.

Major Indoor Soccer League - In 1989, the Cleveland Crunch of the Major Indoor Soccer League drafted Wright with the sixth pick of the expansion draft. On March 6, 1990, the Crunch traded Wright to the San Diego Sockers. The Sockers, perennial contenders, won the MISL championship that season with Wright named as the Championship Series Unsung Hero. Wright remained in San Diego until the MISL collapsed in 1992.
National Professional Soccer League - On January 7, 1993, Wright signed with the Milwaukee Wave of the National Professioanl Soccer League (NSPL). Although the Wave failed to make the playoffs, Wright’s forty-five goals in twenty-five games led to his selection as a first team All Star. That summer Wright signed with the Los Angeles Salsa of the outdoor American Professional Soccer League. In October, 1993, the Salsa loaned Wright to the Baltimore Blast of the NPSL. Wright was back the Salsa for the summer 1994 season, but after the Salsa folded that fall, he signed with the Wichita Wings of the NPSL for the 1994-1995 season. Wright would not return to the NPSL until 1999.
American Professional Soccer League - In 1993, Wright signed with the Los Angeles Salsa of the outdoor American Professional Soccer League. He had not played outdoor soccer since playing with the Nomads in 1990, but this did not stop Wright from finishing second in points and goals to team mate Paulinho Criciúma, being named a first team All Star. In 1994, Wright led the league in scoring, tying Paulhino for the points lead. He was again selected as a first team All Star.
Continental Indoor Soccer League - After playing with the Baltimore Blast during the 1994-1995 winter indoor season, Wright did not return to the APSL, but instead signed with the Sacramento Knights of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL). The CISL played a summer indoor schedule.
Major League Soccer - In December 1995, Major League Soccer announced it had signed Wright to a league contract. In preparation for its first season, MLS signed players to contracts, then distributed these players through the league via an initial allocation and an inaugural player draft. In February 1996, the Kansas City Wizards selected Wright in the third round (twenty-fifth overall) of the 1996 MLS Supplemental Draft. He spent four seasons in Kansas City.
Return to indoor soccer - In the fall of 1999, Wright returned to the Baltimore Blast in the NPSL. He spent most of three seasons in Baltmore, but saw time in seven games with the Philadelphia KiXX during the 2000-2001 season. In February 2002, the Blast waived Wright, who was leading the team in scoring at the time. The San Diego Sockers quickly signed Wright in preparation for the team’s move to the new Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). In October 2002, he signed another year long contract and remained with the Sockers until it discontinued operations in December 2005. On January 5, 2005, the Chicago Storm selected Wright in the MISL Dispersal Draft. However, he retired from playing professionally and continues to live in San Diego.
Post retirement - Wright both owns an athletic training company, Speed to Burn. In April 2006, he joined the San Diego Fusion of the amateur fourth division National Premier Soccer League.

Voodoo Swing, Nervous Records and Rockhouse Records recording artists is a premiere Rockabilly trio established in 1990. The trio consists of Shorty on lead guitar and vocals, while Leeroy pounds on skin and hollers and Ruth lays down the grooves on bass. They have shared the stage with modern legends such as Big Sandy, The Frantic Flattops, The Paladins, Lee Rocker, Three Blue Teardrops, The Reverend Horton Heat, Russell Scott and his Red Hots, the Dave and Deke Combo, and The Hillbilly Hellcats to name a few. Playing a unique rip-it-up style of Neo-Rockabilly quickly got Voodoo Swing the attention of Nervous Records in London, and they were quickly signed. Voodoo Swing's debut

Voodoo Swing
album "We're Usin' Code Names!" came out on Nervous in 1993. It was followed by their second album, "Well, Okay Then!" released on Holland's Rockhouse Records label. Voodoo Swing's music has also been on dozens of Rockabilly compilations, including "American Rumble," and "Only Freeways to Skinner Cat!" The band also provided the soundtrack for the lowrider documentary film "Low and Slow." In 1998, Shorty was voted "Best Electric Guitar Player" in Salt Lake's "City Weekly Magazine" readers poll. In the 90's, Voodoo Swing toured the Western U.S.. and played rockabilly festivals around the country. At that time, the band called Salt Lake its home base. While playing a show in Wells, Nevada in the mid-nineties, a little-known gambler and the 4th King of Buthan, Jigme Wangchuck overheard the combo playing over the "ding ding" of the slot machines. The King peered into the concert hall and was mesmerized by what he saw and heard. That night he ordered the band be "relocated" to the home of his throne in Thimphu, Bhutan. Shorty, Leeroy and Ruth were made the courts jesters and were promised freedom after 5000 shows had been played for the King. Early in 2008 Voodoo Swing fulfilled their obligation to the Kings Court and now are back in Arizona playing for the fans they have missed for all these years. Look for Voodoo Swing in a dive bar near you... just NEVER in a casino.

Cutter Lee
Hard.
Hard livin’ and hard lovin’.
No other word in the English language best describes the singer/songwriter known as Cutter Lee than “hard”.
So it is only appropriate that this rugged Texan’s unique blend of Rock, Country, Gospel and Blues has been christened “Hard Country” by his fans, offering a revealing insight into the man and his music.
His spirit tempered in the forge of life’s adversity, strengthened by overcoming years of abuse and addiction, rescued from the demons of his own personal hell and redeemed by the Grace of Almighty God, Cutter Lee stands as a testament to survival, determination and silent perseverance.
He has gambled it all, and lost. Been beaten, battered and broken, and always quietly picked up the shattered remains and built again. Asking nothing, giving everything, he chooses to MAKE history, not dwell on it.
With raw, heartfelt vocals, simple, honest melodies and an absolutely riveting stage presence, Cutter Lee BLEEDS himself onto an audience. Uniquely able to convey his joy, sorrow, pain and triumph through his words and music, he connects with listeners on a spiritual level, taking them on a journey of the human soul and leaving them with a newfound sense of self discovery and introspection, and always wanting MORE.
You’ll laugh and you’ll cry. You’ll be angered and be humbled. You will be inspired and be ashamed.

But you will BELIEVE.

Lisa Torres
Lisa describes her music as “country with a little soul”. Others have called her sound “Trisha Yearwood meets Bonnie Raitt” and her fans describe her as charming, energetic and passionate. Raised by a music-loving family, Lisa spent most of her early years in southern California, listening to Classic Rock, R & B, Hip Hop, Pop and Blues. It was only a matter of time until she heard her first Country song and she was hooked.
Lisa spent a couple of years playing the clubs and festivals up and down her home state, but she realized that if she wanted to be the best she had to work with the best. So, in January of 2005, on Elvis’ birthday, she packed up her truck in the pouring rain and headed to Nashville to pursue her dream of being a Country artist. As soon as she drove into town, the roller coaster ride began with Lisa singing backup for a friend at Dan McGuiness Pub that first night. From that moment, Lisa says she felt at home. She has since played most of the clubs and
venues in Nashville and continues to play shows and festivals in various parts of the country. Her eclectic, rockin’ live show and her amazing charisma have made her many new fans across the country.
Lisa has become an accomplished songwriter, collaborating with some of the most talented people Nashville has to offer and has won two major songwriting awards. Being able to perform her own songs is icing on the cake and currently her music is being played on several radio stations across the country and in Europe.
During her time in Nashville, Lisa has become a sought-after demo singer and performer. Although her writing skills run to many genres, Lisa is a Country music artist at heart and when she walks on stage, she lights up the place. She feels at home on stage and delivers a performance that excites and amazes her audience. Lisa’s warm, fun and charismatic personality jumps off the stage when she sings and her show ranges from sexy, sultry ballads to rockin’ up-tempo tunes.
Lisa has played intimate acoustic venues of 30 people up to concerts for 3500 people and even Dodger Stadium for 50,000! She feels so comfortable on stage and loves to interact with the band and the fans. As her way of giving back, Lisa put together a cd, “On My Way”, which was included in the gift bags the USO gave to the troops being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Lisa says, “When I leave the stage I want to know that people had a good time. The best response I can get from my audience is the question ‘Where are you playing next?’”

Matt Meyer
The Indians selected Meyer in the 15th round of the 2006 Draft out of Boston College. Meyer quickly impressed in his professional debut that same year in Mahoning Valley when he made 19 appearances out of the bullpen and went 2-2 with 2 saves and a 1.98 ERA, and also held opposing hitters to a .230 average and struck out 31 batters in 27.1 innings pitched. The results in 2007 were mixed, as he carried the dominance over to Lake County where in 11 appearances he put up a 0.50 ERA, held opposing hitters to a .182 batting average, and struck out 20 batters in 18 innings pitched. Upon moving to Kinston, Meyer struggled some going 3-4 with 3 saves and a 4.32 ERA, and held opposing hitters to a .258 batting average while striking out 58 in 50 innings pitched. Meyer throws from a three-quarters arm slot, throws a low 90s fastball that gets up to 93 MPH, and compliments it with a deceptive slider. Meyer has trouble with right-handers but is very tough on lefties, which is why scouts project him as a lefty specialist down the road. In his short minor league career, Meyer has shown the ability to pile up strikeouts (10.29 K/9 career), but he also piles up the walks (4.91 BB/9 career). He needs to continue working on his fastball command, and tighten up his slider. The Indians are excited about his potential, and he made a great showing in the Fall Development Program. He will likely open the year in the Akron bullpen, although a return trip to Kinston to start the year is not out of the question.

Todd Duffley
“Lord, I am a simple man,” he sings on one of the featured songs on his “Todd Duffley and Friends” debut album. Though he may sing about being a simple man, it sure wasn’t a simple path in life that took Todd from his troubled teenage years and near-self destruction as a young adult to become the “Normal Joe” and working class musician he says he is now.
Born and raised in Ohio, Todd’s parents were music lovers, and his uncle, Larry, was a guitarist that performed in a working band that performed across the state. Duffley says some of his earliest musical memories center around singing along to AM radio songs in his father’s Dodge, and attending musical jamborees hosted by his guitar-playing uncle.
His musical dreams started young as he sang in choir in grade school, junior high and in church. The radio sing-alongs and family jamborees didn’t last forever, though, as he entered his teenage years and hit a rough patch in his young life. It’s an understatement to describe Todd’s teen years as rough. They were rough times, sure, like any kid’s teen years are, but his life seemed to be on a rapid downward spiral.
“My parents divorced and I was shuffled back and forth between my mom and dad. I felt like a pawn in a chess game. He quickly became one of those troubled teens you hear about. Todd ran away from home a couple of times, and later stole his stepdad’s truck and crashed it into a tree while joy riding. Drugs and alcohol soon reared their ugly heads, eventually leading him to nearly overdose on prescription drugs. He also became a father at the age of 17 and was living on his own. After graduating early from high school, he went to work to support his new family. That childhood love of music that was an integral part of Todd’s early life had to be put on hold for a while as he worked as a truck driver to support his family. For eight long years, Todd abandoned his music dreams and toiled away as a working man. His teenage chemical abuse problem, however, continued, putting him in what he calls “self-destruct mode.” “It was right after my father died… I had been away from music at that point for six years, and went through two more years of hell,” Todd says. “I straightened up after an arrest and nearly dying from alcohol poisoning. I quit drinking and got my life straight.”
Getting his life back in order included rediscovering his childhood love of music. Todd says one of the first wrongs he set right was to go out and buy a Martin acoustic guitar. Todd took six guitar lessons in 1988 and taught himself from there. Before leaving the guitar lessons, Todd played for his teacher a demo tape of him singing, which he says “floored” the instructor. Todd’s guitar teacher became his producer as the pair spent late nights working on a demo to submit to The Nashville Network’s “You Can Be a Star” talent show. “I was rejected on the first audio demo I sent,” Todd says, rebuffed by the judges but leaving with valuable advice. “They suggested I come up with an original song.” One month later, Todd and his producer, Chris Wintrip, had a song recorded and sent it back to the producers, even though Todd and Chris thought the song “didn’t sound country at all.” Describing the song “You’re My Lady,” Todd says it was a cross-over Country song – part Americana, part roots Country, and part rock. The song was accepted by the producers, but in the end, the show was cancelled a month before taping ever began, leaving Todd with nothing more than “bragging rights” and a hankering to do more writing and recording. By 1991, he had 10 songs recorded, and all 10 songs didn’t quite fit in with the current crop of Country music being picked up by the labels. Chris and Todd’s lives soon led them in different directions. They wouldn’t see each other for 13 years, yet it was hooking back up with his producer and friend that spurred Todd to start writing and recording music again.
Todd was still doing the blue collar-working man thing, driving a truck and supporting his family. He used what little spare time he could scrounge up over the next five years to write and record his debut “Todd Duffley and Friends” album – a roots-rockin’, Alterna-Country singer/songwriter record with 13 strong songs sung by a man whose been around the proverbial block of life more than a few times. Themes of love and pain, hard times and workin’ hard and of family and friends fill the debut songs with an earnestness and honesty that is both uplifting and refreshing. Todd himself talks about those themes and how his life has now aligned to fulfill a musical promise that went unanswered for over two decades. “My motive has never been about fame or fortune,” he says, “but it all goes back to what my Dad tried to pound into my head… You know, back when you were a teen and you thought you knew it all, and what your parents told you went in one ear and out the other. Well, ain’t it funny how things come around full circle?”
Todd recalls his father’s advice spoken all those years ago. “He told me that when I start something, that I should finish it. First or last to finish, it doesn’t matter. All that matters was that you tried. He said, ‘You ain’t got nothing if you ain’t got heart.’ That’s what this album has been for me – pride and passion and heart, and me finishing something I started 20 years ago.”

The inception of Jeffrey Michael's sound echoes back twenty years to rural Appalachia. There, in what’s known as the ‘Tri-state area’ where the borders of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia all come together, Jeffrey grew up. The geographical location provided multiple musical influences. He soaked-up his parents love for the oldies, the Southern rock and country music of his surroundings, and the gospel and blues music of his idols.
It’s no wonder Jeffrey's music cannot be put into a category, nor labeled by the current music scene. Characterized by powerful vocals that range from ethereal and haunting to raw and raucous, Jeffrey's innovative melodies and eclectic array of styles manage to bring elements of roots, blues, and rock & roll to country, and create a soulful and passionate sound unequaled by today's standards.
Years of touring with national acts have honed Jeffrey's stage skills to that of a consummate professional, while his natural charm and down to earth personality keep him accessible to his audience.

Codie Prevost
Welcome to Archerwill, Saskatchewan -- birth place and home away from home to country singer and songwriter, Codie Prevost.
Surrounded by a loving family in a farming community, Codie entered the world of music with his mother playing guitar at family celebrations. When the guitar wasn’t “strummed,” background music of Johnny Horton, Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash found its way to the forefront. Codie experienced live performances of those just starting out – Martina McBride – and although he was only eight, the music bug bit. Upon college graduation and with a newly purchased acoustic guitar, Codie was introduced to Jessica Robinson for singing lessons that later brought him to the attention of Nashville producer Steve Fox.
In 2002, Codie auditioned for a talent contest in Zenon Park, SK. There, he met his current manager, Al Le Blanc and a partnership quickly forged. Songs were written and recorded with Steve Fox but the challenge became how to secure the financial resources to record the first album. Despite a carefully devised business plan, attempts for funding from conventional banks were met with chargin.
Every “no” moved Codie and Al to “go” in the direction of Community Futures.
Established in 1986 by the federal government Community Futures has played a significant role in entrepreneurial and community development. With that in mind, Codie’s business plan was presented during the first meeting; his second meeting had him shaking hands with management after singing a few songs and playing his guitar. Just before his 20th birthday in December 2004, the Community Futures Board in Newsask approved Codie’s funding requirements. Recognizing Codie’s talent and aligning with his dream, his debut album “The Road Ahead” was created.
The success of Codie’s debut album was more than anyone could imagine. Released in 2005, “The Road Ahead” yielded nationally charted singles. The momentum enthusiastically continued with over 150 performances. This translated to multiple nominations at the 2006 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards where Codie won The Rising Star Award and Album of the Year for “The Road Ahead”. His manager, Al Le Blanc was awarded Manager of the Year. Throughout the entire process of performances and award acceptance speeches Community Futures was graciously acknowledged.
In 2007, Codie opened for Doc Walker, Emerson Drive, Gord Bamford, Aaron Pritchett, and Deric Ruttan while the creative process was in high gear for Codie’s next album. The dynamic artist and manager duo came up with an ingenious idea – a six-song mini CD, called a “6-Pak” – the first of which is named SPIN. Co-written with Willie Mack, “Spin” took Codie’s music to his best radio audience ever with the follow up release of “Good Livin’”, co-written by Jason Blaine to even greater heights. SPIN, was launched to the supportive Archerwill hometown crowd in August 2008. In September 2008 the Canadian Country Music Awards were held in Regina and Codie was selected as one of eight New Artist Showcase Spots to perform out of hundreds of submissions that were received.
In early 2009 Community Futures called upon Codie to be Western Canada’s front line spokesman. His winter and spring travels in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta had Codie touching thousands of lives during “The Road Ahead” tour – appropriately named given Community Futures support of Codie’s debut album. High attendee and media success of this tour resulted in some CF offices boasting 90% of loan targets being met for the entire year after Codie’s visits. Codie was re-invited and revisited the province of Alberta during the Fall of 2009. A Community Futures television commercial was created and filmed featuring Codie and continues to be aired in the province of Saskatchewan on CBC and CTV reinforcing the message of Community Futures alignment with Codie’s dream.
Successful songwriting sessions in Nashville coupled with a personal invitation to perform at the highly acclaimed SxSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, was followed by an unprecedented 15 nominations at the 20th Anniversary of the 2009 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards handed out in Nipawin, SK. Family, friends and fans witnessed as Codie Prevost and his band took the stage 10 times to accept 10 awards over the course of the April 25th weekend including the highest accolade, Fans Choice Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year for SPIN. Every award had Codie realizing his dream and acknowledging the support of everyone that made his current wins possible and achievable.
Codie’s talent as a writer, performer and multi award winning artist caught the eye of US Grammy Award Winner Randy Kohrs who recently recorded "Quicksand" as the title track of Randy’s acoustic album, releasing and launching world wide in Fall 2009. “Quicksand” is also featured on Codie’s award winning sophomore album SPIN.
As 2009 comes to a close, Codie Prevost fans in 2010 can look forward to the embarking of Codie Roadies, major sponsorship and tour announcements and the much anticipated release and launch of Codie’s third album.

Emma Jacobs
“Someone like Emma doesn’t come along very often.” The speaker is Karen Staley, a premier Nashville songwriter whose songs have been cut by Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes and Reba McEntire, among many others. She first learned about Emma Jacob through a friend who heard her sing at a showcase. The friend told her that Emma was just a teenager but that she was doing an extraordinary version of one of Staley’s more challenging songs titled “With You.” The following week, a skeptical Staley met with Emma’s manager and listened to a live recording of the performance. “It brought tears to my eyes,” says Staley. “Not just anyone can sing it because of the vast range, but Emma wears it out. I was touched that someone so young could convey the sentiment so well.” the years she developed a powerful yet subtle voice and the ability
to wring emotion out of every line of a song. The rest – a passion for music and life, her charismatic stage presence, and her clear sense of purpose – are quickly evident to those who’ve come to know Emma in person.
Her debut CD on Black River Music Group, available exclusively on Itunes will give the world its first look at a young woman who has been immersed in music since the days when she and her mother sang together while Emma was still in her high chair in Costa Mesa, California. She recalls listening to her mother’s Aretha Franklin records, and then hearing Patsy Cline, who set off a lifelong love of country music. Somewhere amid the elementary school chorus, holiday programs and karaoke CD’s at home, Emma’s parents figured out that she had a real gift. She took vocal lessons from the legendary Seth Riggs – she once ran into Ray Charles at a lesson – and earned a spot as first soprano in the Pacific Symphony Children’s Choir.
“I just heard ‘Georgia On My Mind’ on the car radio the week before I met Ray Charles, “she notes, “I had even commented to my parents that it is such an incredible song. Because I knew very little about Mr. Charles, they went on to tell me about him and the songs he had recorded during his career. So, it was truly an amazing moment when I walked into my vocal coaches offices for my weekly lesson and heard him say to me. ‘I would like to introduce you to Ray Charles, Ray this is Emma.’ I was floored and humbled as I shook this icon’s hand. It was a very sweet moment that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
She began performing at nearby county fairs, and then, at the age of 11, attended an L.A. audition for “Showtime at the Apollo,” turning her affinity for gospel music into a win and a trip to New York for the nationally broadcast TV show. She won over a skeptical crowd with Aretha’s “You’re All I Need To Get By” and earned a standing ovation. “It was one of the most memorable moments,” she says. “Really cool. That was pretty much when I thought, ‘I really want to do this. I really want to be a singer.’”
Her love of gospel and R&B competed with her love of country, but the latter emerged as her clear favorite. Those around her would often say, “’ You’re a natural country singer.’ I suppose it must have been my love for country music showing through. Country tells a story, and it can make you laugh or cry. It’s pretty much like a show in a three-minute song.”
In the meantime, she and her family moved to Colfax, California, to help her grandfather recover from surgery. He was about to sell a local theatre he owned unless she and her parents would take it over. They agreed, and Emma’s 13th birthday present was half ownership of the Colfax theatre. It would be the site of the performance that led Grammy-Award winning Producer Paul Worley (Martina McBride, Dixie Chicks) to urge that she give Nashville a shot.
Her recording experience in California had been minimal, so her first Nashville recording session, “was a little nerve-wracking,” she says, “but once we started, it was awesome.”
Her passions include creations of fashion designer Betsy Johnson (“I’ll go to her store every chance I get”) and anime’, the Japanese animation genre. In fact, animators developed an anime’ short that follows Emma’s own adventures.
Nothing, though, holds the thrill of entertaining. “I love being on stage,” she says. “I love to look back and see my band having a really good time, or to look at people enjoying themselves. It’s pretty awesome.” Concert promoter and venue owner Bill Fisher who booked Emma to open a show for Jason Aldean in Butte, Montana says, “Emma’s performance was seasoned beyond her years…I was blown away by the power of her voice and what a natural she is on stage entertaining! I expect her to be back in this arena headlining soon.
During this last year Emma has traveled to the four corners of the country doing what she loves to do the most, sing and perform. One of the highlights of last year was opening for country music legend, Charlie Daniels. She says about the show, “I was so nervous, it is not every day you get to open for a legend…boy, was it fun, it is a show I will never forget”.
Her voice and presence are as lovely and compelling as a butterfly, dazzling, vibrant and brilliantly colored, and her joy is as infectious as her music. “My job is to sing as well as I can and to entertain people,” she says, “and who could ask for more than that? And, day-to-day, I don’t sweat the small stuff, I pay attention to the big stuff, and I always reflect and remain grateful for all the good stuff.”

I was born on October 31, 1988 in Huntington, WV. I was born with a neuroblastoma (cancerous tumor).  At the age of two weeks I had my first surgery.   At the age of three I had bowel obstruction.  My family and I moved down to Sarasota Florida right before my fifth birthday.  We lived in Sarasota for eleven years.  When I was twelve my travel team went to Cooperstown, NY. During this trip I started to have leg pains, I played for a full year with the pains until one day I was pitching in a babe Ruth game in Huntington, WV and all of a sudden both my legs locked up. I had an MRI the next day. The same day my biggest supporter, my grandmother passed away. The MRI showed I had four tumors lodged into my tailbone and a cord that ran through my spinal cord to a fifth tumor on my pelvic region.  They removed bone from L4 to S4 and removed 95 percent of the tumors in my tailbone but left the one on my pelvic bone which still remains there to this day. I've had a total of five surgeries. We moved back to Huntington, WV were I attended Huntington High School.  I signed with NC State, I was selected in the 15th round by the Washington Nationals.  I decided to sign with the Nationals.  The day after I signed both my best friends died in a car crash on their way back from a senior trip, which I flew home early from to sign. I was suppose to be in the car. I now own Aces Baseball Academy in Huntington, WV.   I run it till I have to report to season.

Chuck Lofgren
My name is Chuck Lofgren and I am 23 years old. I was born in Redwood City, California and I have two older sisters. I graduated from Serra High School in San Mateo, California in 2004. I was drafted by the Cleveland Indians out of high school and I played the 2009 season in Columbus, Ohio pitching for the Columbus Clippers in Class AAA in the minor leagues.
I was selected in the rule of 5 draft on December 10th and I am now on the Major League roster for the Milwaukee Brewers. This is a great opportunity for me and I have to do really well in Spring Training if I want them to keep me.
I have been a baseball player for as long as I can remember. I played for the U.S. National team for three years when I was 15, 16 and 17 years old. I have traveled extensively in my baseball career and my dream was to reach the major leagues while I am 23 years old. I guess I am now living my dream.
I enjoy sports, movies and country music. In my spare time I usually watch a movie or read a book although I don’t really have much spare time. We play seven days a week and usually get one day off each month. We head for the field around 10am for workouts and our games are played from 7pm – 10pm each evening. As you can see, there isn’t much time for assignments. I travel with my laptop, so whenever I have a free moment, I try to catch up.
Baseball is a lot of hard work and dedication. It is often difficult to complete my assignments as I am traveling about 18 days out of each month. When the wireless doesn’t work properly on my laptop, I am forced to use shared computers at hotels which frequently do not function properly. I do the best I can and so far I have done very well in the program. I am enjoying distance learning very much and it is an ideal way for a person in my position to obtain their degree. I will earn my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in June, 2010.

April Taylor takes her musical heritage seriously but when your great grandfather wrote songs with the world famous Carter Family, it just comes naturally. The Bristol, Tennessee native grew up surrounded by music. “All my life I have heard the stories about my great grandfather on my mother's side writing music with the Carter Family. They have always had a family bluegrass band that plays festivals, local events and every family gathering. My grandfather on my father's side of the family can play any instrument he picks up. One of my greatest childhood memories is sitting beside him as he taught me to play the guitar.” As a kid, April would spend hours listening to her father’s albums and singing along though she never took her own musical talents seriously. She was happy singing in her church and with her family, with the hopes of passing her rich musical heritage on to her own children.
However, a recording of April singing found its way to producer and president of Nashville based Plateau Music Tony Mantor. Mantor was impressed with what he heard, contacted April at her home in Bristol and signed her to the label a short time later.   He immediately began to search for songs for her first

studio session, sorting through hundreds of songs submitted by some of Nashville’s hottest writers and publishing companies. Then one day Tony played April a song he had found at one of the city’s smaller publishing houses. That song was “Hero At Home” by writers Paul Harbin, Sandi and Charles Kight.
“My mother’s father was deployed to Korea and left my grandmother at home with 4 small children, “said Taylor. “She has told me so many stories of the struggles she went through while he was away. I also have a really good friend whose husband is in Iraq now. When she talks about her life, I hear the same struggles that my grandmother went through. When I first heard the song, I immediately thought of their lives.” Producer Mantor describes the song as, “A message that we all need to hear and remember; for the wives that are left behind are truly the unsung heroes. When April told me about her background, I knew it would be a natural fit for her.”
Over the next year, Taylor and Mantor worked in the studio to record “Hero At Home” and eleven more songs. But it was the message carried in the words of “Hero At Home” and the emotion brought to life by April’s voice that cried out to be heard.
“Hero At Home” was a was the first single release and the wildly successful single garnering both critical acclaim and nationwide radio airplay. Because of that success, April launched a nationwide tour in January of 2006 and during the following ten months she performed literally across the country from San Diego, CA where she performed aboard the USS Berkley docked in the San Diego Harbor to Washington, DC as the featured performer for the Pentagon’s “Night Of Heroes”.
In 2007, Taylor once again started the year on a high note with the commercial release of the CD, which she had named I Wanna Live Like That. She also began her second nationwide tour while her label released the follow up singles “All My Love”, “Just Another Hurt” and “What It Takes” to radio. The CD’s title track, “I Wanna Live Like That”, shipped to radio in January of 2008 and rose all the way to # 21 on the charts.
As “I Wanna Live Like That” continued its climb up the chart, April returned to the studio with producer Tony Mantor to begin work on her sophomore project. On July 21st of this year "When You Come From Nothing", the first single from the as yet untitled CD arrived at radio. The song, written by Will Hopkins & Steve Mitchell, is a life-affirming testament of the strength of the human spirit expressed in April's unique vocal style.
Following the single's release date, April launched into a packed summer schedule. Her weekdays are divided between the studio in Nashville, where she is putting the finishing touches to the new album, and visiting radio and her weekends are committed to live performances. The single started impacting radio and climbing the charts fast making this another top 40 hit for April in 2008 on the Music Row.
In January of 09 she was invited to perform at the NBA Spurs Game in San Antonio Texas. She performed the National Anthem as well as a Halftime performance, kicking 2009 off to a great start. Nashville recently announced April as the #2 Independent Artist of the Year on Music Row also making her Top Female Independent Artist of the Year for 2008 on the Music Row Charts. The year 2009 looks to be a great year for April Taylor.

her happier. She takes pride in never giving up and that attitude prevailed even in her darkest hour. When the worst possible thing happened that would have ended any young athletes career. Angela fell 30 feet and shattered her spine she spent weeks in the hospital being told to have surgery. She refused surgery against all recomondations. Instead was placed in a body cast for 3 months and was told she would never fight again. From there she used visiualization and her die trying attitude as rehab. Five weeks after the cast was removed she fought, won, and got fight of the night in Las Vegas. Three months later she won the FCF Bantamweight title. She is ranked among the top 10 in the world and conitnues to fight.
Angela Magana know resides in Farmington New Mexico with her 7 year old daughter Delilah.           It started on Friday when February 13, 1976 8.29 hours to a little girl was born. It was close or had a birth mom had on the toilet as soon as I was! Even the midwife was not on time. I was happy to stay home, even though I was born prematurely.
          Our Family
Our family was born two years after my three children. Marc, my older brother, I and my younger sister Martine. In appearance, we seem pretty similar, but there are also many differences. After several years my brother Florian was born.
My love for sports was clearly very young. Even with the diaper juggling with our dad in the living room. We pulled the craziest stunts and antics from. Mama
Krista Fleming
was less enthusiastic because we hung sink to the regular swing. It is a miracle that never sink to the wall has come and we have no injuries sustained in that time. My dad is really a sportsman. I remember he was 45 years old as a transshipment handstand when we showed up the dog to the exhaust were. I was really surprised! Judo, soccer, gymnastics and motocross in his youth were his favorite sports. My mother has never really been a fan of sports. She loves gardening and reading.
          It started with football
When I was about eight years wanted very happy football. At that time I really only for boys. In our neighborhood was much play football so I decided that I wanted to be as good as the boys from our street. My brother and I always fight over who had the best, strongest, fastest or smartest would be. I actually always lost at all points, but I took it hard for me to work.
In those days there were no girls my age who played soccer so I was in a boys team. I was the head of the team regularly and I was the leader of the team. After a few years had to go to the Ladies Team. I was a little too big and too old for the boys team. My mother absolutely did not want me in the adult women would play because I had always came home regularly sore. These girls were so big and so heavy, because I really do not fit between a blade of 13 years.
          Soon came the riding
Besides football, I started riding around my 9th year. My first pony was called Proetje care. Proetje was a very naughty pony at the farm stood where both I and my sister Martine came daily. We could of Fie and Geert (the farmer and the farmer) as a reward for good day care for a ride. In the summer we stayed there with alll girls and we did tag on the ponies. Every day we made them do something silly. Mama often regretted that we were never home, but now years later she is happy that we grew up as healthy on the farm. I am still Fie, Geert Miranda and grateful for everything I got to experience for years.
Around my 12th I got the opportunity to do matches with Brainy. After two years of intensive super Brainy, which we have the L-class in the dressage came, she had her recurrent disease spontaneously be finished. My heart broke ....
          When and Aerobics Steps
I have a few years the horses of a different care. Meanwhile I have trained four times a week in gym Zweers Westervoort. I was there on Aerobics and Steps. I was fanatically every day and within a few years I was training more than 5 times a week. In the summer of '92 we were a group of athletes Zweers the Nijmegen Vierdaaagse. I thought I was doing a while to. I have known! Untrained walk 40 km a day is still not recommended. I was immediately punished and one years was not long intensive training for a knee injury,. .... but I have prejudged the Marches !.....
          And finally ... Kickboxing ...
I will never forget my first contact with the kickboxing. I had really never heard of, kickboxing, well that would be nice because I think generally all sports fun to do. A few girls on the corn market told me that it was a sort of combination of karate and boxing. I was immediately interested and so I came by Sensei Fred Royer.
I unsuspectingly walked into the gym and hopped up the stairs for me to dress. Fred asked me very directly if I was sure I wanted to do this, and whether I dare because kickboxing is really no girls sports. I was very surprised and decided just to show him who I was! The first three quarters were still pretty good, until we were firs ... I had no idea what that was. A kind of play with each other, turned out. Wow what is so hard to master in your stomach when you do not have strong abs! It took a while before I got my breath back. This was scared say! I was really mad at that girl, I can still get the feeling. She longed to show that she was better (very recognizable athletes of course) Well I knew what I wanted, that men and especially girls, very quickly show that I can ... kickboxing ...
fortunately I got a few months after an intense workout nekblessure. When I decided on the advice of my doctor (when I listened) to stop kickboxing.
But blood is thicker than water ... ..
After a few years studying, going out, traveling, discovering myself, especially boyfriends and many work in the hospitality, I decided yet again to go kickboxing. I missed the feeling of training for some time, but dared not to move the car to go back to the gym. That is such a familiar phenomenon, it pushes you always with you every time a different excuse. Now I recognize that my students. "Yeah Kris, I'll train again very soon, but first here to improve my condition, and then I ..." Then you see that person appear months later at the gym or the mall with a new excuse.
In 2000 I dared to go back to training. I started with twice a week to train. I was at that moment in my last year of my studies and Organization (Saxion University) and could not train more often. I was training in Utrecht and then went straight to the gym on the days of training. Until April 2001 I stayed on average two times a week training. In April I left for a hafl years to Australia and Asia. A long journey (only) was still on my list of dreams. Now I finally had to chance to do that, so why not? I did my training so fast I had one years anyway on to use the study! During my trip I had a good time for all thinking.
          What I really want?
That question remained largely unanswered. I did not know exactly what I wanted so
I decided late in 2002 to continue studying (psychology) and also to keep training as much as possible. The combination itself went pretty well, but I also had to continue to earn my money to pay for everything. On the weekends I worked around the clock, so I was in school and during training is not as good performance. I had something else to think. Not long after I had the opportunity to the youth of Marjolein Hulshoff Kickboxing classes to take. I found it great to be with the kids. Slowly the pieces fell together.
In the meantime I kept hoping that Fred would ever ask me for a game fight. I dared not ask him, but I could not wait any longer. My competitive instincts were so strong that at one point I had the guts to ask him. "I knew it!" he said. "You see, I am always right". After two months especially many in the fight Contest Group (which has changed somewhat pfuf) I fought to May 13, 2004 my first match against in Katwijk Lisette Steinmetz from Ede. This game was really "my victory" in all respects. Now I knew I was on the right track .... ...
After the summer I started the Women in the kickboxing gym. Now 5 years later I run with my partner Fred Roijers our Power Center gym and Fight Kick Boxing Arnhem and I Martial arts teacher at the ROC. Besides this work I Ambassadrise of the Jane Goodall Institute Netherlands.
I finally got my sport / hobby my work, and I'm still every second of the day happy with my choice.

Elaina Maxwell
Elaina has always been an athlete of some kind because she loves competition. She started playing soccer in grade school in Salt Lake City, Utah with her twin sister, Ila. Yes, Elaina is the older twin by three minutes. After moving to Muscle Shoals, Alabama due to her father's work transfer, she picked up her love for volleyball in middle school, which she played year-round for twelve years. Having no martial arts experience whatsoever, Elaina started martial arts in somewhat of a strange way because she initially used kickboxing as an off-season workout for volleyball and track and field when it was the latest fad in workout trends. She fell in love with the contact, intensity, and competition of San Shou, which is Chinese Kickboxing. While finishing off her volleyball career and pursuing her educational goals at San Jose State University, Elaina made the USH! Fight Team in March of 1998. She began to grow as a martial artist from there under
Cung Le's guidance. After taking some time off to complete her last volleyball season, Elaina began training on a more serious level because she missed the feeling and intensity of competition in her life. Going to school full time and working part time helped Elaina to dedicate herself more to martial arts. This helped her to become a more disciplined athlete in all aspects of her life through consistency and learning the overall mentality of a martial artist. In 2003 after Elaina's first World Wushu Gold Medal Championship in Macau, China, she received her BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. When in training for a fight, Elaina makes many sacrifices on a daily basis from eating the right foods to training double days. She's pleased to finally see the fruits of her labor, becoming a 3-time World San Shou Champion as well as the North American San Da Intercontinental Middleweight Champion. Recently, Elaina received her first professional MMA title, becoming the 2007 Golden State Light Middleweight MMA Champion. However, she knows that continued success only comes from training hard and staying consistent. Elaina displays an ongoing commitment to martial arts because she remains disciplined in her everyday routine and hungry for new competition. Venturing into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2005, Elaina will soon be a purple belt. In addition, Elaina has been fighting professionally since 2006. Now that Elaina has been practicing martial arts for so long, she can't even imagine her life without it because training and teaching has become such an integral part of her lifestyle. During the past twelve years, Elaina has become one of the pioneers of San Shou and MMA, making history over and over again. With both of her parents dying in 2007, she has suffered a few setbacks, including two consecutive MMA losses, in the industry and decided to switch up her scenery and training environment by moving to Las Vegas in 2008. By making this monumental change in her life, Elaina hopes to move toward a whole new level of competition in Sin City. Ranked in the WAMMA Top 10 for her weight division, Elaina is now training out of Xtreme Couture and working diligently with The Institute of Sports Performance of Las Vegas.

Terry Petersen

Let me take you back a few years he said, well maybe more than a few. It all started for him when he was 10 years old listening too rock-n-roll and thinking sounds like a great way too meet girls and have fun he said with a smile. His mom bought him a cheap electric guitar, with an amp that was big enough to make noise. He said he made so much noise that they made him go out in the hall way and shut the door. It didn't hurt his feelings though because they knew he was really just trying to figure it out. He really wanted them to listen to him , but he realized the only way that was going to happen was to learn how to play at least something that wouldn't make the paint peel off the walls. Through the mid "60's" Terry's Band called The Telstars opened for many other rock-n-roll acts. Turning too country music in the early seventy's like so many other bands he just toured the local circuits and honky tonks. Recording another single in 1975 he realized how much he loved the recording process, so he built his first recording studio. Soon he had other artists and bands coming to him that wanted too record. Driving a truck and recording at night kept him pretty busy, but he said when your doing something you love you don't watch the clock. He found himself needing more space so he said, looks like i will just have to build a bigger one, he
laughed. Since then Terry has built seven studio's, produced more artists than he can remember and worked with some of the best studio musicians in the world. He has also co-written with many hit song writer's and artists one of them being Peter Cetera lead singer of the band "Chicago" which he says is in the works to be finished soon. Terrys band has opened for artists like Mel Street, Jim Ed Brown, Barbara Fairchild, Bill Anderson and Steve Wariner among others. Then 1979 came around and he started a group called "Backstreet". They entered an International Battle of the Bands. Out of 3,000 bands they came in third here in Nashville performing all originals at T.P.A.C. in Nashville. They won some money, wow, you can make money doing this, well a little he said and recorded a free single that they received from the contest. As the years passed Music was still a major part of his life, but always put on hold through lifes curves. In 1989 and 1990 talking about curves, he got involved racing late model stock cars at NASCAR short tracks racing in TN and Alabama, Georgia where at a local track won rookie of the year. 1995 Terry got involved with Legend car racing with Brooks and Dunn and Mark Collie at Nashville Speedway. Terry owned three race cars and loving racing, won 4 championships. Both Mark Collie, also Peter Cetera of The group "Chicago" drove the other two in Celebrity races. Through five years of being involved with The Legend Car Races Terry along with many other drivers including Nascar and Hollywood actors raised almost 4 million dollars for Juvenile Diabetes for Vanderbilt Research. Terry has said that he has met so many different people throughout his life he wouldn't change a thing if he could, well maybe a few with a smile. It took all the experiences of ups and downs to mold me into who i am today, they have made me stronger in faith, knowledge, compassion and learning we can make a difference and change in other peoples lives. You can now find Terry in his recording studio recording, singing and writing again and also performing every chance he gets. His next release in "2009" will expose his musical talent and lyrics which defines who he is today. He hopes that every one who listens too his music will enjoy all the songs that mean so much too him and the spiritual message's that they contain. Look for his new C.D. release in "2009" God Bless.

Marthia Sides has one of the most impressive voices, looks, and musical pedigrees on Music Row.
First of all, Radio’s response to her Nashville debut CD Born Again in the Country and the single “Picture Perfect Girl” has shown that Marthia has a unique sound that Country listeners get on the very first spin.
That song has a Pop/Country feel which is made for Country Radio. The follow-up single, “City Country City,” may be even more impressive. Unlike “Perfect,” Marthia wrote this one, a funky and highly autobiographical story song about her countless geographical and musical influences.
Among those musical heroes is Patsy Cline, who like Marthia is a Virginian whose music spanned Country and Pop idioms effortlessly. She grew up around Country her whole life.

What truly separates Marthia from her Row competition is not just her music and her style– which are impressive indeed– but it’s her show-biz background. She’s one of the few Country singers who’s lived the life of an Off- Broadway performer– in New York, not in downtown Nashville– and endured the Broadway auditions with 800 other top talents. Marthia has done tons of TV and film work, and is a top-notch stylist with many celebrity clients. She lived and worked in New York for 6 years before coming to Nashville. Her sister still works at a high-profile job in NYC, and together they own a Manhattan apartment. But her heart and soul have always been in the South.
Marthia has just finished her second CD entitled "I Got Faith" produced by kevin Beamish set for release early 2009.
She is a polished live performer who loves playing concerts. Marthia mixes in classic Country– doing several Patsy and Crystal songs, for instance– with newer and original material.
Her Radio tours have created great excitement, and spins both on small-market and major-market stations – unusual for an indy artist. KYGO/Denver, for example, a Jefferson Pilot station, jumped all over Marthia’s music and the station’s support helped her get into the prestigious Taste of Colorado festival. And in Arizona, “Picture Perfect” won a station make-it-or-break-it contest before the Eager County Festival, in a part of the state which features the largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the world.
Everything about Marthia is new and unique, but somehow familiar too. Her combination of talents and backgrounds, so unique to Nashville, is fast making her music both a Web and a Radio favorite.

Brenda’s singing career began tweny-five years ago. She sang in her hometown church whenever she was given the opportunity. It was then, she realized this was her hearts desire to share her God given talent with the world, which also led to performing in local and state fairs, weddings, events of all kinds and singing the National Anthem for minor league baseball games. In 1986, she received the talent award for the Miss T.E.E.N. Pageant. More recently, she participated in and won numerous vocal contests locally and have sung with various gospel groups and bands in and around her hometown. In August 2006, Brenda was selected to perform in the "Nashville Music Network Showcase", held at "The Gibson" in Nashville, TN . November 2006 she was selected to participate in the "USA World Showcase" in Las Vegas, Nevada, held at the "MGM Grand Hotel" and placed First Female Vocalist in the Gospel division. She was aired on PAX TV. May 2007 and 2008, Brenda had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem for the WNBA at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. for two consecutive years. In July 2007 and 2008, Brenda auditioned for the "Colgate Country Showdown" and was selected as one of the twelve (out of 60 auditions) to participate for two consecutive years. Currently, Brenda is working on a CD Project with her producer. She's hoping it will be finalized in 2010.
